Ludhiana, Punjab :-  In an excellent raid a godown was searched in Bhadour House, Ludhiana on 3rd April.  3809 MP3 CDs, 6767 pirated VCDs, 4774 pirated DVDs and 7000 inlay cards were seized.  Owner Ravi Kumar was arrested.  Value appx. 15 lakhs.  4 kms from legitimate outlet.  (Seizure includes 450 CDs of Warner titles).

Bhatinda, Punjab :-  A shop called Sharma Music Center was searched in Bhatinda Cantt., Punjab on 5th April.  75 MP3 CDs and 179 pirated VCDs were seized.  Owner Arun Kumar was arrested. 

Faridkot City, Punjab :-  190 MP3 CDs, 17 pirated VCDs and 43 pirated DVDs were seized from a shop called Twelve Star Gift Palace in Faridkot City on 7th April.  Owner Tarsem Lal was arrested. 

Dist. Ludhiana, Punjab :-  448 MP3 CDs, 497 pirated VCDs and 483 pirated DVDs were seized from a stall in Khanna, Dist. Ludhiana on 8th April.  Owner Jinder Singh was arrested.  Value appx. 1.4 lakhs. 

Faridkot City, Punjab :-  A shop called R.K. Films was searched in Faridkot City on 15th April.  270 MP3 CDs, 30 pirated VCDs and 93 pirated DVDs were seized.  Owner Rajinder Kumar was arrested.

Dist. Hoshiarpur, Punjab :-  2 shops, Sonu Video Lab and Bittu Music Center were searched in Garhshankar City, Dist. Hoshiarpur on 15th April.  455 MP3 CDs, 444 pirated VCDs and 575 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons, Gurminder Singh and Raghupinder Singh were arrested.  Value appx. 1.4 lakhs. 

 

Dist. Taran Taran, Punjab :-  A shop called Rinku Electronics was searched in Bhikhivind, Dist. Taran Taran on 17th April.  831 pirated CDs, 165 MP3 CDs, 515 pirated VCDs and 405 pirated DVDs were seized.  Owner Rakesh Kumar was arrested.

Ludhiana, Punjab :-  A shop called Chimpu Electronics was searchedin Bhadour House, Ludhiana on 17th April.  3225 MP3 CDs, 2549 pirated VCDs and 6996 pirated DVDs were seized.  Owner Lovenset Chopra was arrested.  Value appx. 12.7 lakhs.  4 kms from legitimate outlet.  (Seizure includes 6000 DVDs of Warner titles).

Ludhiana, Punjab :-  1925 MP3 CDs, 1236 pirated VCDs and 892 pirated DVDs were seized from a shop cum residential premise at Shimla Puri, Ludhiana on 28th April.  Owner Vijay Kumar was arrested   Value appx. 4 lakhs.  6 kms from legitimate outlet.

Amritsar, Punjab :-  3 premises were searchedin Amritsar on 18th April.  1 Computer, 10 CD Writers, 300 blank CDRs, 1270 MP3 CDs, 1500 pirated DVDs, 2007 pirated VCDs and 15000 inlay cards were seized.  3 persons were arrested.  Value appx. 6 lakhs.  5 kms from legitimate outlet.

Bhatinda, Punjab :-  201 pirated cassettes, 185 MP3 CDs and 150 pirated DVDs were seized from a vendor at Bhatinda on 20th April.  Owner Harinder Pal Singh was arrested.

Jalandhar City, Punjab :-  2 shops, Raju Video in Naya Bazaar and Golden City Center  in Bains Market, Jalandhar were searched on 22nd April.  1488 MP3 CDs, 110 pirated VCDs and 2487 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons, Rakesh Kumar and Tajinder Singh were arrested.  Value appx. 4 lakhs.  5 kms from legitimate outlet.  (Seizure includes 350 DVDs of Warner titles).

Ludhiana, Punjab :-  249 MP3 CDs, 1229 pirated VCDs and 236 pirated DVDs were seized from a shop at Bhadour House, Ludhiana on 28th April.  Owner Sandeep Kumar was arrested.  Value appx. 1.7 lakhs. 4 kms from legitimate outlet.

 

Rajasthan

Dist. Jaipur, Rajasthan :-  In an excellent raid a CD Recording unit was seized from a residential premise at Durgapura, Jaipur on 11th April.  3 Computers, 104 CD Writers, 9600 MP3 CDs, 2200 blank CDRs, 7188 pirated DVDs and 476000 inlay cards were seized.  9 persons were arrested.  Value appx. 20 lakhs.  22 kms from legitimate outlet.

Jaipur, Rajasthan :-  20 MP3 CDs and 107 pirated DVDs were seized from a premise at Murlipura, Jaipur on 22nd April. 1 person was arrested.

Patna, Bihar :-  In an excellent raid a Shop cum godown was searched in Gola Road, Patna on 16th April.  28 CD Writers, 3 Computers, 3879 MP3 CDs, 2100 blank CDRs, 2150 pirated VCDs, 10100 pirated DVDs and 30600 inlay cards were seized. 2 persons were arrested.  Value appx. 20 lakhs.  5 kms from legitimate outlet.  (Seizure includes 1000 VCDs of Warner titles).

Bhopal, M.P. :-  In an excellent raid a CD recording unit was searched in Bhopal on 1st April.  3 Computers, 59 CD Writers, 31 MP3 CDs, 2452 pirated VCDs, 530 pirated DVDs, 2050 blank CDRs and 3300 inlay cards were seized.  Owner Lajpat Rai was arrested.  Value appx. 6 lakhs. 

Bhopal, M.P. :-  2 shops, Samay Video and Vishal Music Center  and a vendor were searched in Itwara market, Bhopal on 8th April.  3564 MP3 CDs, 8505 pirated VCDs and 9125 pirated DVDs were seized.   4 persons Sandip Yadav, Mohd. Abrar, Sharik and Shakir were arrested.  Value appx. 21 lakhs.  

 

WEST BENGAL :

Kolkata, W.B. :-  Sony Playstation Action: A shop called Kalamandir was searched in Shakespeare Sarani, Kolkata on 1st April.  510 Sony Playstation Game CDs were seized.  Owner Bhola Kanoi was arrested. 

Kolkata, W.B. :-  Sony Playstation Action:  In a raid conducted on Atronic, Chandhi Chowk Streer, Kolkata on 5th April, 175 Sony Playstation CDs, 630 MP3 CDs, 1740 pirated VCDs and 1775 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons were arrested.  Value appx. 4.2 lakhs.  (Seizure includes 500 CDs of Warner titles).

Kolkata, W.B. :-  367 MP3 CDs, 370 pirated VCDs and 202 pirated DVDs were seized from a vendor at M.G. Road, Kolata on 15th April.  Owner Raja Gupta was arrested.  (Seizure includes 135 VCDs of Warner titles).

Kolkata, W.B. :-  Sony Playstation Action:  2 vendors were searched in Bentink Street and Chandni Chowk Street area of Kolkata on 26th April.  200 Sony Playstation CDs, 1033 MP3 CDs, 1848 pirated VCDs and 516 pirated DVDs were seized.  3 persons, Shaikh Nasir, Mohd Sonu and Amar Shaw were arrested.  Value appx. 3.5 lakhs.

Kolkata, W.B. :-  525 MP3 CDs and 272 pirated DVDs were seized from a vendor at J.L.Nehru Road, Kolkata on 30th April.  Owner Kamruddin Mondal was arrested.

Guwahati, N.E. :-  2 Shops, Sagar PCO and Barsha Electronics were searched in Guwahati on 18th April.  455 MP3 CDs, 441 pirated VCDs and 165 pirated DVDs were seized.  Owner Sagar Das and Rajesh Singh were arrested.  Value appx. 1 lakhs. 

Guwahati, N.E. :-  A shop called CD Shop was searched in Guwahati on 22nd April.  216 MP3 CDs, 223 pirated VCDs and 68 pirated DVDs were searched.  Owner Bijay Purkayastha was arrested.

Panbazar, N.E. :-  A shop called CD Centre was searched in Lakhtokia, Panbazaar on 29th April.  116 MP3 CDs and 86 pirated VCDs were seized.  Owner Picky Pradhan was arrested.

Dispur, N.E. :-  3 shops, C.D. Shop, Film Center and Chitra Electronics were searched in Dispur and North Lakhimpur on 30th April.  1 Computer, 2 CD Writers, 409 MP3 CDs, 626 pirated VCDs, 231 pirated DVDs and 35 inlay cards were seized.  4 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody. 

 

KARNATAKA :

Bangalore, Karnataka :-  3 vendors were searched in Malleswaram area of Bangalore on 23rd April.  65 MP3 CDs and 3026 pirated DVDs were seized.  3 persons, Imran Pasha, Mahaboob and Praveen were arrested.  Value appx. 3 lakhs.  12 kms from legitimate outlet.  (Seizure includes 1125 DVDs of Warner titles).

Andhra:

Hyderabad, A.P. :- Mobile Chip Action: 4 shops, Voda Mobiles, S.M. Mobiles, Channel 6 and New Strawberry Shoppe were simultaneously searched in Abids, Hyderabad on 9th April.  4 Computers, 4 Mobile Chips and 4 Card Readers were seized.  4 persons were arrested.

Dist. Karimnagar, A.P. :-  Mobile Chip Action: 4 shops, S.R.R. Cell Point, On line tele Communications, Chandana Graphics and Gayatri Communications were searched in Dist. Karimnagar on 16th April.  4 Computers, 4 Mobile Chips and 7 Card Readers were seized.  4 persons were arrested.

Secunderabad, A.P. :-  Mobile Chip Action: A shop called Limra Mobiles was searched in Tirumala Hong Kong Bazaar, Secunderabad on 22nd April.  1 Computer, 1 Mobile Chip and 2 Card Readers were seized.  Owner Mohd. Zia-ur Rahaman was arrested.  10 kms from Music World.     

 

TAMIL NADU:

Chennai, T.N. :-  In an excellent raid a CD recroding unit and 2 shops were searched in Anna Nagar area of Chennai on 1st April.  375 Sony Playstation Game CDs, 98 CD Writers, 380 MP3 CDs, 2125 pirated DVDs and 100 other game CDs were seized.  6 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 3 lakhs.  13 kms from Planet M and 7 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 1635 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  Shop nos. 190 and 187 in Burma Bazaar and 2 vendros in Adapakkam and Korattur area of Chennai were searched on 2nd April.  655 MP3 CDs and 1871 pirated DVDs were seized.  4 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 2.5 lakhs.  18 kms from Planet M and 14 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 890 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  A shop called Bhakti Music Center in Mogappair and a vendor in Ambattur area of Chennai were searched on 4th April.  325 MP3 CDs and 1150 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons, Sikanthar and Sathiva were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 1.5 lakhs.  6 kms from Planet M and 10 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 425 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  150 MP3 CDs and 450 pirated DVDs were seized from London Shopping Center in Anna Nagar, Chennai on 8th April.  Owner S. Ramachandran was arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 2 kms from Planet M and 5 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 300 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  In an excellent raid a CD recording unit at Kodungaiyur area and a vendor at Ambattur and a shop at T. Nagar were searched.  13 CD Writers, 535 MP3 CDs, 1320 pirated DVDs and 2000 inlay cards were seized.  3 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 2 lakhs.  18 kms from Music World and 12 kms from Planet M.  (Seizure includes 722 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N.:-  Sony Playstation Action: 3 shops, Hong Kong Shop, A1 Mobile and Blassey Mobile Shop were searched in Anna Nagar area of Chennai on 10th April.  380 pirated Sony Playstation Games, 480 MP3 CDs and 360 pirated DVDs were seized.  3 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 1.2 lakhs, 2 kms from Planer M and 7 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 360 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  Shop no. 55 was searched in Burma Bazaar, Chennai on 11th April.  250 MP3 CDs and 1080 pirated DVDs were seized.  Owner Yusuf Siddiq was arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 1.3 lakhs.  12 kms from Planet M and 6 lms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 50 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  Simultaneous raids were conducted on 4 vendors at Adambakkam, Saidapet and Gunidy area of Chennai on 13th April.  880 MP3 CDs and 1745 pirated DVDs were seized.  3 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 2.6 lakhs.  18 kms from Planet M and 15 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 550 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  Shop no. 284 and 285 were searched in Burma Bazaar, Chennai on 15th April.  125 MP3 CDs and 614 pirated DVDs were seized.  Owner Mohamed Rafeek was arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  6 kms from Music World and 12 kms from Planet M.  (Seizure includes 245 DVDs of Warner titles).

Dist. Kancheepuram, T.N. :-  Raids were carried out on 3 premise in Wallagabath, Kancheepuram and Thirukashukundaran area of Dist. Kancheepuram on 6th April.  518 MP3 CDs, 276 pirated VCDs and 1199 pirated DVDs were seized.  3 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 2 lakhs.  68 kms from Music World and 60 kms from Planet M.  (Seizure includes 606 DVDs of Warner titles).

Dist. Villupuram, T.N. :-  Mobile Chip Piracy Action: 3 shops, Bakthi Musical Center, Andavar CD Park and Mahalakshmi Video Point were searched in Vikeeravandi area of Dist. Villupuram on 11th April.  1 Mobile Chip, 1 Card Writer, 3 CD Writers, 900 MP3 CDs, 120 pirated VCDs and 901 pirated DVDs were seized.  3 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 2 lakhs.  120 kms from Planet M and 125 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 40 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  In an excellent raid a CD recording unit was searched from a premise in Mannady, Chennai on 17th April.  2 vendors were also searchedin Dharamani and Adayar area of Chennai.  96 CD Writers, 3 Computers, 1575 MP3 CDs, 6725 pirated DVDs and 10000 inlay cards were seized.  4 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judical custody.  Value appx. 9 lakhs.  8 kms from Music World and 15 kms from Planet M.  (Seizure includes 2750 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  In a raid conducted on a vendor and a shop called Pintu CD Shop at Adayar, Chennai on 22nd April, 270 MP3 CDs and 1000 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons, G. Mohan and J. Vinay were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 1.2 lakhs.  19 kms from Planet M and 13 lms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 220 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  Shop no. 75 was searched in Burma Bazaar, Chennai on 23rd April.  112 MP3 CDs and 505 pirated DVDs were seized.  Owner M. Sundar was arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  12 kms from Planet M and 6 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 175 DVDs of Warner titles).
           
Chennai, T.N. :-  2 vendors were searched in Vellacherry area of Chennai on 25th April.  375 MP3 CDs and 950 pirated DVDs were seized.  3 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 1.3 lakhs.  17 kms from Planet M and 14 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 250 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  340 MP3 CDs and 5310 pirated DVDs were seized from 2 vendors at Villivakkam and Mogappair area of Chennai on 28th April.  2 persons, Boominathan and Mariyappan were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 5.6 lakhs.  15 kms from Music World and 10 kms from Planet M.  (Seizure includes 1740 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  Shop nos. 29 and 6 were searched in Kamarajar Salai, Triplicane, Chennai on 29th April.  450 MP3 CDs and 2750 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons, Jaffer Sathik and Santhosh were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 3.2 lakhs.  14 kms from Planet M and 8 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 1400 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  14 suo motu raids were conducted by the V.P.C. in Chennai during the month.  204 MP3 CDs and 2833 pirated DVDs were seized.  14 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody. 

Vellore, T.N. :-  99 MP3 CDs, 60 pirated DVDs and 700 pirated VCDs were seized from 12 suo motu raids conducted by the T.N. police in Vellore during the month.  12 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judical custody.

Cuddalore, T.N. :-  756 MP3 CDs, 225 pirated DVDs and 25 pirated VCDs were seized from 6 suo motu raids conducted by the T.N. police in Cuddalore in April.  6 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

Madurai, T.N. :-  Sony Playstation Action:  773 pirated DVDs of Sony Playstation Games, 3590 MP3 CDs, 1469 pirated DVDs and 40 pirated VCDs were seized from 13 suo motu raids conducted by the T.N. police in Madurai during the month.  13 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody. 

Dindigul, T.N. :-  1323 MP3 CDs, 244 pirated DVDs and 140 pirated VCDs were seized from raids conducted by T.N. police on 6 shops in Dindigul during the month.  6 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

Virudnagar, T.N. :-  1657 MP3 CDs and 630 pirated DVDs were seized from 6 suo motu raids conducted by the T.N. police in Virudnagar during the month.  6 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

Triunelveli, T.N. :-  1500 MP3 CDs and 510 pirated DVDs were seized from 5 suo motu raids conducted by the T.N. police in Triunveli during the month.  5 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

Trichy, T.N. :-  11 suo motu raids were conducted by the T.N. police in Trichy during the month.  3813 MP3 CDs, 2325 pirated DVDs and 155 pirated VCDs were seized.  11 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

Coimbatore, T.N. :-  4170 MP3 CDs and 1535 pirated DVDs were seized from 12 suo motu raids conducted by the T.N. police in Coimbatore during the month.  12 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

Dist. Kancheepuram, T.N. :-  Simultantous raids were conducted on 3 vendors in Dist. Kancheepuram on 18th April.  470 MP3 CDs, 100 pirated VCDs and 1241 pirated DVDs were seized.  3 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 1.8 lakhs.  67 kms from Music World and 62 kms from Planet M.  (Seizure includes 445 DVDs of Warner titles).

Kerala :-  97 suo motu raids were conducted in Pathanamthi, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Idukki, Malappuram, Kannur, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Palakkad, Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram districts in Kerala during the month.  2,11,366 MP3 CDs, 24,989 pirated VCDs and 15,303 pirated DVDs were seized.  97 persons were arrested.
