Shailendra Salian a.k.a SHAIL, is a young dynamic movie critic with an experience of 10 yrs. rubbing shoulders with the who's - who of the industry.
After completing his Master's , he joined the Hindi-Film Industry early on as a script writer and later went on to assist various tele-serials like, Battle of Bollywood, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Zamana Badal Gaya and then went on to assist director Vipul Shah in several movies.
Reportedly a close pal of actors & directors like Madhur Bhandarkar, R Madhavan & Shekhar Suman, he is a humble guy who is passionate about movie making and loves to believe that he eats movies, drinks movies & sleeps movies. Oh did V forget breathes movies???
Currently in the US he is pursuing an Advanced Course in Indepedent Study In Films from The University of Texas In Dallas.
This is how he describes himself -
" I can sit through any movie and find something good or bad about it. Everyone is biased towards a particular genre of movies and I am no exception but for the most part I can sit through any genre of movies and find something good or even great to consume. I believe movies are a director's medium as much as it is of the script writer's. What one can tolerate is another issue but I seek and desire storytelling on the screen.
I dont believe movies have to be technically great to be a HIT. A Good Story & Good Acting is what the common man desires.
When you take a common man on a fantasy ride he will not care what angle your cameras are? He will not care about a Long Shot, Over The Shoulder, CloseUps, Tight CloseUp, etc.Technique is for the director to satisfy his inner nerd. "
