Kerala model / Action by the police
This June The Tamil Nadu police carried out 155 raids in Chennai, Cuddalore, Vellore, Salem, Madurai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Dindigul and Tirunelvelly. 12695 MP3 CDs, 4895 pirated VCDs and 19192 pirated DVDs were recovered. 155 people were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.
In another spate of 45 suo motu
raids conducted this June by the Kerala Police,. Shops and
premises in Trivandrum City & Rural, Iddukki, Kochi, Kottayam,
Ernakulam City & Rural, Palakkad, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode
City, Kasargod and Kannur were searched. 8370
pirated CDs, 78773 MP3 CDs, 332 pirated DVDs and 10953 pirated
VCDs were seized. 47 people were
arrested.
