Kerala model / Action by the police
(i) Tamil Nadu police carried out 93 raids in Chennai, Cuddalore, Vellore, Salem, Madurai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Dindigul and Tirunevelly. 5955 MP3 CDs, 1844 pirated VCDs, 6495 pirated DVDs and 6 CD Writers were recovered. 93 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.
(ii) 32 suo motu raids were conducted by the Kerala Police in November. Shops and premises in Kannur, Kozhikode, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam and Trivandrum were searched. 79138 pirated MP3 CDs, 1620 pirated DVDs and 19166 pirated VCDs were seized. 39 persons were arrested.
