Faizabad :- The premises of Sumit Music Center was searched in Goseinganj, Faizabad on 10th October.  1207 MP3 CDs, 6249 pirated VCDs and 310400 inlay cards were seized.   3 persons were arrested.  (Value appx. 8 lakhs).

Dist. Bulandshahar :-  The premises of Baba CD Point was raided in Syana, Dist. Bulandshahar on 24th October.  5550 MP3 CDs, 18297 pirated VCDs and 452 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons were arrested.  (Value appx. 24 lakhs).

Sultanpur:-  756 MP3 CDs and 2140 pirated VCDs were seized from a shop called Satbeer Electronics in Sultanpur on 31st October.  2 persons, Kulwant Singh and Jasbeer Singh were arrested. (Value appx. 2.9 lakhs).

 

 

PUNJAB :

Amritsar :-  391 MP3 CDs, 270 pirated VCDs and 455 pirated DVDs were seized from a shop in Amritsar on 5th October.  Owner Manjit Singh was arrested. (Value appx. 1.1 lakhs).

Amritsar:-  1261 MP3 CDs and 4732 pirated VCDs were seized from a shop called J.K. Music Center in Amritsar on 16th October.  1 person was arrested.  (Value appx. 6 lakhs).

Amritsar:-  215 MP3 CDs, 689 pirated VCDs and 248 pirated DVDs were seized from the premises of Seth Electronics in Amritsar on 20th October.  1 person was arrested. (Value appx. 1.1 lakhs).

Chandigarh :-  In an excellent raid a godown was seized in Chandigarh on 4th October.  6321 MP3/MP5 CDs, 5951 pirated DVDs, 7970 pirated VCDs and 149000 inlay cards were seized.  Owner Raj Kumar was arrested.  (Value appx. 21 lakhs).

Bhatinda :-  11 CD Writers, 2550 CDRs, 210 MP3 CDs, 220 pirated VCDs and 18500 inlay cards were seized from a unit at Bhatinda, Punjab on 6th October.  Owner Kuldip Kumar was arrested.  (Value appx. 3 lakhs).

Jalandhar :-  462 MP3 CDs, 474 pirated VCDs and 1226 pirated DVDs were seized from Ajay STD in Jalandhar on 26th October.  1 person was arrested.  (Value appx. 2.1 lakhs).

 

 

 

BIHAR :

Dist. Nalanda :-  In an excellent raid a CD recording unit was seized from the premises of Vaishno Cassette Centre and a unit in Bihar Sharif, Dist. Nalanda on 26th October.  1 Computer, 16 CD Writers, 4250 MP3 CDs, 2600 blank CDRs, 1600 pirated DVDs, 8700 pirated VCDs and 150000 inlay cards were seized.  2 persons, Raj Kishor and Binay were arrested.  (Value appx. 18 lakhs).

Patna :-  450 MP3 CDs, 720 pirated DVDs and 2400 pirated VCDs were seized from Raj Video Center in Patna on 30th October.  1 person was arrested. (Value appx. 3.5 lakhs).

 

M.P.:

Bhopal :-  Mobile Chip Action:  2 shops, Lucky Mobile Shoppe and New Rythem Electronics were searched in Gandhi Market, Piplani, Bhel, Bhopal on 15th October.  2 Computers, 3 Blue Tooths, 5 Card Readers, 17 Mobile Chips, 2 DVDs and 2 MP3 CDs were seized.  Owners, Niraj Israni and Shankar Lal Talreja were arrested.

 

Mumbai :-  Sony Playstation Action:  A shop called Boy Zone was searched in Shivalaya Shopping Complex, Chembur on 31st October.  232 CDs were seized.  Owner Viresh Joni was arrested.

A shop called Laxmi Music Center was searched in Sakinaka, Mumbai on 4th October.  353 MP3 CDs and 62 pirated VCDs were seized.  Owner Shankar Reddy was arrested.

 

WEST BENGAL :

Kolkata

512 MP3 CDs, 233 pirated DVDs and 516 pirated VCDs were seized from a vendor at BBD Bag, Kolkata on 4th October.  Owner Debabrata Basu was arrested.  (Value appx. 1.2 lakhs).

1125 MP3 CDs and 249 pirated DVDs were seized from a vendor at A.P.C. Road, Kolkata on 4th October.  Owner Mohd. Azmat was arrested.  (Value appx. 1.3 lakhs).

2 shops, Bappa Electronics and S.B. Electroncis were searched in Naopara, 24 Parganas on 5th October.  1438 MP3 CDs, 3287 pirated VCDs and 365 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons, Bappa Biswas and Samir Das were arrested. (Value appx. 5 lakhs).

In a raid conducted at Monsur City Library at Munshi Bazaar, Burdwan on 6th October, 1265 MP3 CDs and 3308 pirated VCDs were seized.  Owner Mohd. Noor Alam was arrested.  (Value appx. 4.5 lakhs).

2080 MP3 CDs, 4155 pirated VCDs and 275 pirated DVDs were seized from the premises of Hena Music Center at Papiana and Music World at Durgapur Dist. on 9th October.  Owners, Mohd. Khurshid Rabbani and Joydeb and Karmakar were arrested. (Value appx. 6.5 lakhs).

 

 

NORTH EAST

Meghalaya :-  796 pirated cassettes, 482 MP3 CDs, 108 pirated DVDs and 640 pirated VCDs were seized from 2 shops in Nongpoh Bazaar in Meghalaya on 25th October.  2 presons were arrested. (Value appx. 2 lakhs).

Babupara :-  2 shops, Payel Video and Ma Kali Radio Service were searched in Barpeta Road Bazaar, Babupara on 31st October.  1771 MP3 CDs, 105 pirated DVDs, 1387 pirated VCDs, 840 blank CDRs and 732 inlay cards were seized.  2 persons were arrested. (Value appx. 4 lakhs).

 

KARNATAKA :

Bangalore

2 shops and a vendor were searched in Vyalikaval, Lalbag Fort Road and Indiranangar area of Bangalore on 6th October.  1065 MP3 CDs, 6190 pirated DVDs and 735 pirated VCDs were seized.  5 persons were arrested.  (Value appx. 8 lakhs).

3 vendors were searched in Yeshavanthapura area of Bangalore on 22nd October.  75 MP3 CDs and 2650 pirated DVDs were seized.  3 persons were arrested.  (Value appx. 2.7 lakhs).

 

 

 

Andhra:

Dist. East Godavari :-  4 shops, Sri Lakshmi Electronics, Tulasi Musicals, Big ‘C’ and Amar Homeneeds were searched in Rajahmundry town, Dist. East Godavari on 18th October.  16 Mobile Chips, 3 Card Readers, 2 Computers/CD Writers and 4719 pirated DVDs and MP3 CDs were seized.  4 persons were arrested. (Value appx. 4.8 lakhs).

Hyberabad :-  24 MP3 CDs, 164 pirated VCDs and 2765 pirated DVDs were seized from the premises of V.P.I.N. Audio & Video at Kachiguda, Hyderabad on 11th October.  Owner V. Satyanarayana was arrested. (Value appx. 3 lakhs).

 

 

TAMIL NADU:

Chennai

Shop nos. 85 in Red Hills and Shop no. 80 in Burma Bazaar and 2 vendors at T. Nagar were searched in Chennai on 1st October.  500 pirated cassettes, 460 MP3 CDs and 1361 pirated DVDs were seized.  4 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  (Value appx. 1.8 lakhs).

2 vendors were searched in Jafferkhanpet area of Chennai on 6th October.  147 MP3 CDs and 981 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons, Bharathiraja and Mageshvaran were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  (Value appx. 1.1 lakhs).

In an excellent raid a CD recording unit was recovered from a residential unit at Todaiyarpet, Chennai on 22nd October.  71 CD Writers, 510 MP3 CDs, 2000 blank CDRs and 185 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons B. Mohan and Rajeshkannan were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  (Value apps. 3 lakhs).

Shop no. 16 in Anna Nagar, Meenakshi Musicals in Aminjikerai and a vendor at T. Nagar were searched in Chennai on 23rd October.  300 MP3 CDs and 1435 pirated DVDs were seized.  3 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  (Value appx. 1.7 lakhs).

Simultaneous raids were conducted on 5 vendors in Ambattur, T. Nagar and Saidapet area of Chennai on 24th October.  727 MP3 CDs and 2198 pirated DVDs were seized.  5 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  (Value appx. 2.9 lakhs).

5 vendors were searched in Ambattur and Salinganallur area of Chennai on 25th October.  630 MP3 CDs and 2176 pirated DVDs were seized.  5 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  (Value appx. 2.8 lakhs).

A shop called Universal Video Shop was searched in Ramapuram area of Chennai on 25th October.  50 MP3 CDs, 25 pirated VCDs and 950 pirated DVDs were seized.  Owner Kumar was arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  (value appx. 1 lakhs).

Shop no. 296 was searched in Burma Bazaar area of Chennai on 26th October.  1025 MP3 CDs, 50 MP4 CDs and 2100 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons, Muthu and Balamurugan were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  (Value appx. 3.1 lakhs).

Shop nos. 378 and 367 were searched in Burma Bazaar, Chennai on 26th October.  212 MP3 CDs and 897 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons Rahuman and Barani were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  (Value appx. 1.1 lakhs).

2 vendors were searched in Ritche Street area of Chennai on 27th October.  235 MP3 CDs and 940 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons, Mohamed Ali and Mohamed Nazir were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  (Value appx. 1.1 lakhs).

Sony Playstation Action: In an excellent raid a CD recording unit was seized at Balamurugan Nagar, Redhills, Chennai on 28th October.  31 CD Writers, 500 MP3 CDs, 700 pirated DVDs, 300 Sony Playstation Game CDs, 1500 blank DVDs and 75000 Playstation II inlay cards were seized.  3 persons, Sivakumar, Vairavan and James were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  (Value appx. 3.5 lakhs).
