Rae Bareli, U.P. :-  1810 MP3 CDs, 655 pirated DVDs and 6146 pirated VCDs were seized from a shop called Aman Video in Rae Bereli on 23rd January.  Owner Naved Hasan was arrested. Value Appx. 8.6 lakhs.

Dist. Bulandshahar, U.P. :-  In an excellent raid a CD Recording unit was seized from a residential unit at Town Dibai, Dist. Bulandshahar on 24th January.  4 Computers, 32 CD Writers,1455 MP3 CDs, 800 blank CDRs, 2250 pirated VCDs and 48000 inlay cards were seized.  2 persons were arrested.  Value appx. 5 lakhs.

Bulandshahar, U.P. :-  695 MP3 CDs, 681 pirated DVDs and 2144 pirated VCDs were seized from a shop in Bulandshahar market on 31st January.  Owner Sanjeev Gupta was arrested.  Value appx. 3.5 lakhs.

PUNJAB :

Amritsar, Punjab :-  A supplier of pirated CDs were nabbed near Amritsar railway station on 2nd January.  233 MP3 CDs, 258 pirated CDs, 292 pirated DVDs and 226 pirated VCDs were seized.  Owner Badlu Ram was arrested.  Value appx. 1 lakh.

Amritsar, Punjab :-  421 MP3 CDs, 722 pirated VCDs and 192 pirated DVDs were seized from the premise of Bablu Music Center, Amritsar on 10th January.  Owner Harjeet Singh was arrested.  Value appx. 1.3 lakhs.

Dist. Mohali, Punjab :-  2 shops, Surinder Video & Music Center were searched in Kharar Market, Dist. Mohali on 7th January.  2 Computers, 7 CD Writers, 344 MP3 CDs, 134 pirated CDRs, 504 pirated DVDs, 533 pirated VCDs and 3025 inlay cards were recovered.   Owner Harvinder Kumar was arrested.  Value appx. 1.5 lakhs.

Rajasthan

Pali, Rajasthan :-  3 shops, Jai Jhulelal Video, Sunny CD Center and Manbhawan Music Palace were searched in Pali, Rajasthan on 8th January.  446 MP3 CDs, 747 pirated DVDs and 284 pirated VCDs were seized.  3 persons were arrested.  (Value appx. 1.5 lakhs)

Jaipur, Rajasthan :-  3 raids were conducted in Shyam Nagar and Pali Road area of Jaipur on 20th and 21st January.  823 pirated DVDs, 653 pirated VCDs, 382 MP3 CDs, 74 pirated cassettes and 740 pirated CDs were seized.  3 persons were arrested.  Value appx. 2.5 lakhs.

Jaipur, Rajasthan :-  2 shops, Nagauri Music Center, Imran Music Center and Bharat Mobile Point were searched in 352 MP3 CDs, 152 pirated DVDs and 1526 pirated VCDs were seized.  3 persons, Fareed Khan, Imran Khan and Ahmed were arrested.  Value appx. 2 lakhs.

Gujarat :

Ahmedabad, Gujarat :-  Mobile Chip Action:  In a raid conducted on a premise in Karonj, Ahmedabad 1 Computer, 1 Card reader and 1 mobile chip were seized.  Owner Nomin was arrested.

WEST BENGAL :

Kolkata, W.B. :-  625 MP3 CDs, 1039 pirated VCDs and 252 pirated DVDs were seized from a vendor at Hare Street, Kolkata on 2nd January.  Owner Aahammad Raja was arrested.  Value appx. 1.9 lakhs.

Kolkata, W.B. :-  A vendor was searched in Subhas Road, Kolkata on 7th January.  784 MP3 CDs, 1113 pirated VCDs and 415 pirated DVDs were seized.  Owner Shaikh Kamaluddin was arrested. Value appx. 2.2 lakhs.

Kolkata, W.B. :-  927 MP3 CDs and 566 pirated VCDs were seized from a vendor at A.P.C. Road, Kolkata on 8th January.  Owner Shaikh Firoj was arrested. Value appx. 1.5 lakhs.  (Seizure includes 55 CDs of Warner titles).

Kolkata, W.B. :-  In a raid conducted at N.S. Road and Kolukola Street, Kolkata on 9th January, 2 vendors were searched and 1265 MP3 CDs, 1455 pirated VCDs and 569 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons, Shaik Naushad and Sunil Biswas were arrested.  Value appx. 3.2 lakhs.

Kolkata, W.B. :-  1175 MP3 CDs, 1228 pirated VCDs and 225 pirated DVDs were seized from a vendor Near Hazra Crossing, Kolkata on 19th January.  Owner Sabbir Ali was arrested.  Value appx. 2.6 lakhs. (Seizure includes 212 VCDs of Warner titles).

Kolkata, W.B. :-  2 vendors were searched in Sealdah and Rash Behari area of Kolkata on 11th January.  2237 MP3 CDs, 3820 pirated VCDs and 1019 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons, Amal Pal and Bappa Pal were arrested. value appx 7 lakhs.  (Seizure includes 525 VCDs of Warner titles).

Kolkata, W.B. :-  790 MP3 CDs, 1194 pirated VCDs and 633 pirated DVDs were seized from a vendor at Gariahat Crossing, Kolkata on 15th January.  1 person, Mohd. Sarfaraj was arrested. Value appx. 2.6 lakhs.

Kolkata,W.B. :-  Simultaneous raids were conducted on 5 vendors near Gariahat Market, Kolkata on 24th January.  2327 MP3 CDs, 2403 pirated VCDs and 5885 pirated DVDs were seized.  5 persons were arrested.  Value appx. 10 lakhs.

Kolkata, W.B. :-  430 MP3 CDs and 180 pirated DVDs were seized from a vendor at Chawringhee Road, Kolkata on 29th January.  1 person, Bablu Chakrabarty was arrested.  (Seizure includes 40 DVDs of Warner titles).

Nadia, W.B. :-  In a raid conducted on a vendor at Ranghat Rly. Stn., Nadia on 30th January, 1253 MP3 CDs, 2280 pirated VCDs and 395 pirated DVDs were seized.  Owner Mithu Ghosh was arrested.  Value appx. 4 lakhs.  (Seizure includes 40 DVDs of Warner titles).

Gariahat, W.B. :-  1243 MP3 CDs, 1426 pirated VCDs and 426 pirated DVDs were seized from a vendor at Gariahat on 31st January.  Owner Sanat Sardar was arrested.  Value appx. 3 lakhs.  (Seizure includes 90 DVDs of Warner titles).

KARNATAKA :

Bangalore, Karnataka :-  139 MP3 CDs and 1874 pirated DVDs were seized from a premise in Hosur Main Road and 2 vendors in S.P. Road, Bangalore on 14th January.  4 persons were arrested.  Value appx. 2 lakhs.  12 kms from Planet M.  (Seizure includes 474 DVDs of Warner titles).

Bangalore, Karnataka :-  2 vendors were searched in Koramangala area of Bangalore on 19th January.  550 MP3 CDs and 1100 pirated DVDs were seized.  4 persons were arrested.  Value appx. 1.6 lakhs.  15 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 395 DVDs of Warner titles).

Bangalore, Karnataka :-  200 MP3 CDs and 825 pirated DVDs were seized from the premise of Sagar’s 2 Square, Sarjapur Road, Bangalore on 20th January.  Owner Krishna Sagar was arrested.  Value appx. 1 lakh.  18 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 220 DVDs of Warner titles).

Bangalore, Karnataka :- A shop called R.R. Electronics was searched in S.P. Road, Bangalore on 21st January.  510 MP3 CDs and 13000 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons were arrested.  Value appx. 13.5 lakhs.  8 kms from Planet M.  (Seizure includes 2200 DVDs of Warner titles).

Andhra:

Hyderabad, A.P. :-  Mobile Ship Action :  1 Computer and 1 mobile chip were seized from Jai Sai Communications in Secunderabad, Hyderabad on 22nd January.  Owner Anbhba Reddy was arrested.  11 kms from Planet M and 9 kms from Music World.

Nizamabad, A.P. :-  611 MP3 CDs and 155 pirated DVDs were seized from 3 shops, Anuradha Cassette Center, Vaishnavi Music Point and Sri Laxmi Chaya Music Center in Nizamabad on 23rd January.  3 persons were arrested. 

Hyderabad, A.P. :-  Sony Playstation Action:  3 shops, Max Video Games, Jai Mathaji Electronics and Novelties were searched in Ashok Nagar, Hyderabad on 28th January.  461 pirated Sony Playstation game DVDs, 30 pirated Sony Playstation game VCDs, and 3035 other pirated PC games were recovered.  3 persons were arrested.  10 kms from Music World.

Hyderabad, A.P. :-  Mobile Chip Action:  2 Computers, 2 Card readers and 2 Mobile Chips were seized from Madhu Electronics and Sree Tulasi Mobiles in Habrigudu, Hyderabad on 10th January.  15 kms from Planet M.

TAMIL NADU:

Chennai, T.N. :-  In an excellent raid a CD recording unit was seized in Thiruvottiyur, Chennai on 3rd January.  40 CD Writers, 400 MP3 CDs, 1695 pirated DVDs and 3430 pirated VCDs and 6000 inlay cards were seized.  Owner Syed and Yasin were arrested to 15 days judicial custody.  Value Appx. 6 lakhs. 22 kms from Music World and 28 kms from Plante M. (Seizure includes 1150 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  Shop no. 55 and 710 in Burma Bazaar were searched in Chennai on 6th January.  350 MP3 CDs and 775 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons, Gulam Mohammed and Murugan were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 1.1 lakhs.   15 kms from Planet M and 20 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 400 DVDs of Warner titles). 

Chennai, T.N. :-  Shop no. 384 in Chennai Bazaar and 2 vendors in J.J. Nagar, Chennai were searched on 7th January.  320 MP3 CDs and 1640 pirated DVDs were seized.  3 persons, Sadam Hussain, Pithgamaagan and B. Syed Ali were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody. Value appx. 2 lakhs.  15 kms from Planet M and 20 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 560 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  3 vendors were searched in M.G.R. Nagar area of Chennai on 11th January.  450 MP3 CDs, 390 pirated VCDs and 713 pirated DVDs were seized.  3 persons, M. Veerasamy, Murugan and Muthu were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 1.5 lakhs.  15 kms from Planet M and 20 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 420 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  325 MP3 CDs and 850 pirated DVDs were seized from 2 vendors in Tambaram, Chennai on 12th January.  2 persons, Selvakumar and Ikbal were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 1.2 lakhs 22 kms from Music World and 28 kms from Plante M. (Seizure includes 250 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  A CD recording unit was seized in Border Thottam area of Chennai on 13th January.  48 pirated DVDs, 1200 MP3 CDs, 16150 pirated DVDs and 100 inlay cards were seized.  2 persons, Abdul Rahumanand Ali Moniden were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 17 lakhs.  8 kms from Planet M and 3 kms from Music World. (Seizure includes 300 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  332 MP3 CDs, 380 pirated DVDs and 470 pirated VCDs were seized from 2 vendors in J.J. Nagar area of Chennai on 19th January.  2 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 1.1 lakhs.  6 kms from Planet M and 13 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 240 VCDs of Warner titles). 

Chennai, T.N. :-  A vendor and a shop called Suresh Time Center were searched in Otteri and Avadi area of Chennai on 20th January.  1000 MP3 CDs and 1900 pirated DVDs were seized.  2 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 2.9 lakhs.  18 kms from Music World and 20 kms from Planet M.  (Seizure includes 325 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  Shop nos. 399 and 422 and 2 vendors in Burma Bazaar were searched on 24th January.  454 MP3 CDs and 1819 pirated DVDs were seized.  4 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 2.2 lakhs.  10 kms from Planet M and 9 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 545 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  430 MP3 CDs and 1246 pirated DVDs were seized from 3 vendors at J.J. Nagar, Chennai on 23rd January.  3 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 1.7 lakhs.  6 kms from Planet M and 10 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 445 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  Sony Playstation Action : Shop nos, 260, 259 and 227 were searched in Burma Bazaar, Chennai on 25th January.  525 MP3 CDs and 4750 pirated DVDs and 1000 Sony Playstation CDs were recovered.  3 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.  Value appx. 6 lakhs.  6 kms from Music World.  (Seizure includes 1000 DVDs of Warner titles).

Chennai, T.N. :-  16 suo motu raids were conducted by the T.N. police in Chennai during the month.  24 DVD Writers, 3500 blank DVDs, 1500 inlay cards, 187 MP3 CDs, 1589 pirated DVDs and 445 pirated VCDs were seized.  16 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

Vellore, T.N. :-  83 MP3 CDs, 419 pirated DVDs and 42 pirated VCDs were seized from 3 suo motu raids conducted by the T.N. Police in Vellore in January.  3 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

Salem, T.N.:-  12 MP3 CDs, 584 pirated DVDs and 31 pirated VCDs were seized by the T.N. police in Salem during the month.  7 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

Cuddalore, T.N. :-  150 MP3 CDs, 254 pirated DVDs and 22 pirated VCDs were seized from 3 premise in Cuddalore by the T.N. Police.  3 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

Madurai, T.N. :-  9 suo motu raids were conducted by the T.N. police in Madurai during the month.  1763 MP3 CDs, 404 pirated VCDs and 662 pirated DVDs were seized.  9 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

Dindigul, T.N. :-  440 MP3 CDs, 97 pirated VCDs and 393 pirated DVDs were seized from 6 suo motu raids conducted by the T.N. police in January.  6 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

Trichy, T.N. :-  16 suo motu raids were conducted by the T.N. police in Trichy during the month.  1 Computer, 1620 MP3 CDs, 582 pirated VCDs and 1090 pirated DVDs were seized.  16 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

Coimbatore, T.N. :-  7 suo motu raids were conducted by the T.N. police in Coimbatore during the month.  531 MP3 CDs, 102 pirated VCDs and 373 pirated DVDs were seized.  7 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

Virudunagar, T.N. :-  215 MP3 CDs, 10 pirated VCDs and 150 pirated DVDs were seized from 4 suo motu raids conducted by T.N. police in Virudnagar in January.   4 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

Triunelveli, T.N. :-  6 suo motu raids were conducted by the T.N police in Triunelveli during the month.  446 MP3 CDs, 30 pirated VCDs and 210 pirated DVDs were seized.  6 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

Kerala :-  23 suo motu raids were conducted in Kasargod, Kanur, Kozhikode, Malappura, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kochi, Ernakulam, Kottayam and Thiruvananthapuram districts in Kerala during the month.  35250 MP3 CDs, 3591 pirated VCDs and 360 pirated DVDs were seized.  23 persons were arrested.
