Kerala model / Action by the police
The Tamil Nadu police carried out 51 raids in Chennai, Cuddalore, Vellore, Salem, Madurai, Dindigul, Trichy and Tirunevelly. 27 CD Writers, 6866 MP3 CDs, 4439 pirated VCDs and 7304 pirated DVDs were recovered. 51 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.
53 suo motu raids were conducted by the Kerala Police in April. Shops and premises in Trivandrum City & Rural, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam City & Rural, Palakkad, Kozhikode City, Waynad and Kannur were searched. 2 Computers/CD Writers, 10766 pirated CDs, 90253 MP3 CDs and 15871 pirated VCDs were seized. 58 persons were arrested.
