Kerala model / Action by the police
(i) Tamil Nadu police carried out 117 raids in Chennai, Cuddalore, Vellore, Salem, Madurai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Dindigul and Tirunevelly. 11603 MP3 CDs, 5824 pirated VCDs and 11647 pirated DVDs were recovered. 117 persons were arrested and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.
(ii) 11 suo motu raids were conducted by the Kerala Police in September. Shops and premises in Ernakulam City/Rural, Trichur and Kozhikode Rural were searched. 261 pirated DVDs, 41130 MP3 CDs and 4580 pirated VCDs were seized. 13 persons were arrested.
